Analysis of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon Derivatives by On-Line Coupled Packed-Capillary High-Performance Liquid Chromatography–High-Temperature Gas Chromatography Tao Jiang and Yafeng Guan

A packed-capillary high-performance liquid chromatograph (µ-HPLC) is coupled on-line to a high-temperature capillary gas chromatograph (HTGC) through a multiloop, nonsplit, in-column interface. Polycyclic aromatics and aliphatics of oils of residuum and extracts of residue in the petrochemical industry are analyzed using µ-HPLC–HTGC. Quantitative results are obtained and discussed with respect to frame structure and carbon number distribution.
